NTE in Late October: Akane Rin's First Week

Version 1.4's second half went live October 21 with Akane Rin: official notices, the tier-list debate and what it means for pulls, read October 25.

What went live on October 21

The official maintenance notice, published October 19, took the servers down 06:00–11:00 (UTC+8) on October 21 and opened Version 1.4’s second half:

  • Akane Rin — a limited S-Class, Lakshana-attribute main DPS — on the Dazzling Star Limited Board with Haniel, Aurelia and Skia, running to November 11, 05:59 (UTC+8). Void Perks milestone rewards (bonus tracks at 50, 120 and 200 rolls) ride along.
  • Her signature Arc “Far Side of the Moon” on the Celestial Special Arc Research program over the same window.
  • The spinoff story “To Us, Back Then,” City Hangouts and Home Time invitation modes, and Aurelia’s Bond cap raised to 10.
  • Gifts mailed after maintenance: Akane’s “House Special” outfit and 2,000,000 Fons (the standard currency), plus Annulith x300 (pull-currency) maintenance compensation for accounts created beforehand.

Limited Boards share the S-Class pity counter under the official board rules — the same 90-roll ceiling, no 50/50, that the banner schedule and pity calculator are built on.

Where the community puts her

  • Prydwen’s NTE tier list, updated October 21, places Akane Rin in its top damage tier alongside Lacrimosa and Zankou, with Blackbird top-tier as a hybrid. That is one site’s ranked opinion with its own copy assumptions — the tier list page here preserves the original source’s roles and A0/A6 framing instead of flattening them.
  • The October 21 Reddit thread discussing that update focused less on Akane and more on the new A1 columns for standard S-Class characters — A-levels track duplicate copies (A0 is the copy-free base; each level adds one) — which readers attributed to the selector boxes now in circulation. Commenters also noted an A0 Daffodill remaining competitive with her A1 listing when played efficiently.
  • An earlier r/NTE_EN build thread is a useful snapshot of practical pull doubt: players described her as heavily dependent on the Remora reaction (one of the Esper Cycle element pairings), paired her with Blackbird as sub-DPS, and several concluded “skip” for rosters that already run a Shinku or Hotori team. That matches how this site frames the decision — a roster-gap question, not a ranking position; the team compositions page lists the actual routes.
  • Wider context, unverified: a late-September r/NTE_EN chart-position thread (original post deleted) saw commenters citing Perfect World financial reporting — roughly $300 million over the first four months, majority PC and console, against far smaller mobile-store estimates — repeated here only as the community’s own framing of why chart position and player population disagree.

One new reported code

Mobalytics’ codes page, updated October 21, added NTENIGHT1021 — reported rewards: Annulith x60 (pull currency) and Floe Cinema Tickets x2. This is a third-party report; this site has not redeemed it, no expiry was published with it, and the in-game redemption result on your account is authoritative. It is not yet in the dated reports table, which follows the tracker’s batch source reviews — a single fresh listing is not a redemption test.

The older strings WONDERLOGGIFT and BLACKBIRDINNTE are a one-day source conflict now past either way: the reports table here, last read October 18, carried a reported October 20 cutoff for both, while Mobalytics’ October 21 update lists BLACKBIRDINNTE expiring October 20 and WONDERLOGGIFT October 21. A newer page title is not a newer successful redemption; the client’s response decides.

What we are watching

The whole Version 1.4 cluster — Pukaland included — closes November 11, 05:59 (UTC+8), 17 days from October 25. No successor version notice had been verified on official channels as of this article’s date; when one appears it will be folded into the event timeline and banner schedule. If you are closing out Pukaland currency instead, the end-of-event checklist is the companion piece to this recap.
